Sewer Camera Inspection

It’s never fun to have a plumbing issue. But with a drain camera inspection, we can make the tough easy. Traditionally, people resort to invasive methods to find a plumbing problem. With the latest technology, we can use a non-invasive solution to pinpoint the problem in minutes and eliminate small chronic issues.

Sewer Cleaning

Sewer cleaning is the process of removing any sort of debris that has built up in the sewer system. Sewers collect wastewater from laterals connected to homes, offices, and industries. They are able to carry different types of wastewater, but all of them need to be cleaned every once in a while.

Sewer Repair

Sewer repair is never a fun thing to experience. Sometimes there is excess vegetation clogging the pipes, other times there is a leak in a pipe, or the entire system needs to be replaced. The good news is that there are many ways to solve this problem and you don’t have to do it alone.

Signs Your Sewer Might Be Clogged

If you notice your toilets, sinks, bathtub drains, or showers are starting to back up, there’s a good chance that you need a sewer line cleaning. Sewer work can be frightening, but identifying the problem early on will help you fix it before it gets out of hand. Here are some things to look out for:

Discolored/Dark Water

One of the most common reasons for a clog in the kitchen sink is grease. When food particles and fat combine, they form grease that sticks to the pipes. This grease hardens and blocks the water flow, which can cause a backup in your tubs or sinks. The issue will occur most often in the shower, tub, or floor drains in your basement.

Unlike a leaky pipe, water from a burst pipe will not be clear. Mixed with waste material, it will be dark, stinky, and gross-looking. This type of water can also contain sewage, so be careful when cleaning up after a burst pipe. Use powerful cleaners and protective gear for these types of incidents.

Slow-Moving Drains

How are your drains doing lately?  Do you notice a gradual slowing of water, or does it seem rapid for no reason?  The slowing of water typically means there is a clog somewhere in the line.  A clog will slow down water flow because most clogs are built up over time by debris.

If your home is beginning to show signs of clogged drains, it’s likely a sewer line issue.  A clog will first be seen in the toilet.  When you flush, the water may seem to stay in the bowl for a few moments, before slowly sinking.  This is because toilets are often the first drain affected by a clog, as they’re often connected directly to your sewer line.

Gurgling Sounds

And you thought your drains were the only ones who get clogged up.  When water and air bubbles build up in your pipes, strange noises can arise.  The sound travels similarly through a pipe as it does in the air, so these strange sounds can come from any direction, from the pipes to the ceiling, or even outside of your home.

Sometimes, the strangest noises happen when you’re not even home. Most often, noise complaints come from those who have a gurgling sound coming from their drains. But look out for trickling, hissing and bubbling sounds! If your main sewer line is almost entirely clogged, it can take a while for stuff to drain through. Consequently, these strange noises will continue long after you stopped using a drain.

Clogged Plumbing Fixtures

If your clogged sewer line goes unnoticed for too long, you’ll start noticing this sign: Your drains will soon quit working altogether instead of just barely draining.  When this happens, the clog will build up to the point where almost no wastewater can move through the pipe.  If you don’t notice it in time and fix the problem, you’ll be faced with a sign that says “no wastewater can move through the pipe.”

Keep in mind that all plumbing pipes in your home are interconnected.  If there is a clog in the sewer pipe, it will affect the basement, the bathroom upstairs, and the toilets.  Your kitchen sink might seem fine, but when you walk into the bathroom you may find a clogged shower.  You might think that your toilets on the upper floor work great, but when you go downstairs you will find all the sinks clogged.

How Does Sewer Cleaning Work?

Sewer cleaning is a multi-step process. Your plumber may first use a high-pressure hydro-jet nozzle to clear the pipe of any buildup, then they may use an auger or water jetter to remove any remaining residue. However, there are times where auto-rooting technology will be necessary. We have a variety of tools to keep your pipes working reliably for years to come.

When you need your sewer cleaned, you can count on the professionals at Clog Busters.  We do more than just clean the pipes in your home.  We inspect them for any clogs or danger.  By keeping an eye on all of your pipes, we make sure they’re always clean and free from buildup that could be lurking inside.

So if you’re in need of top sewer cleaning in Des Moines, reach out to Clog Busters today and let’s get you the services you deserve! Call now!
